Helmetcam test

took my helmet camera with me today when we went climbing. I learned two things: next time put on the camera BEFORE I do the hard routes (by the time I got around to grabbing my cam, my arms were tired and you all get to see a boring route), and I somehow have to get the picture more “zoomed out”. My head is pretty close to the wall (leaning costs strength) so unfortunatly 90% of the film is looking at a wall up close. Yeah, it’s really that exciting.

Climbing gear

I finally got around to buying myself some climbing gear this week. Now I don’t need to rent/borrow any more. While I was at it, I bought myself an ATC belay device (the Black Diamond ATC-XP). Might as well get used to it early off.

Deepest Sender

I found an interresting tool to make blogging easier. It’s a addon for Firefox called “Deepest Sender” Pretty useful, it’s small and easy to install (like any other Firefox addon), fast and easy. It may not offer all possibilities I would have if I logged onto my blog directly, but it supports wysiwyg and pretty much everything you would basically need. I still haven’t found out how to activate spell checking yet ….

can be installed via the mozilla addons page https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/1811

indoor climbing

We went indoor climbing this week again. I brought my camera along and took some pictures http://bilder.dopefish.de/spass/klettern/ Unfortunatly they turned out a bit grainy since I didn’t use a flash.

On the bright side I got to play around with the raw module from Photoshop CS3, and I must say it is simply great.  Normally I dont shoot photos in raw mode since I didn’t have a tool to extract them confortably. But after using CS3 I will definatly shoot in raw instead of jpg more often.
